Fargo, ND - Moorhead, MN (F-M) is the largest metro area between Minneapolis/St.Paul, MN and Spokane, WA with about 160,000 residents in Cass and Clay counties. The cost of living is about average, violent crime is extremely low, the drive to work is under 20 minutes, and the amenities for a community this size are great. F-M is conveniently located at the intersection of interstate highways I-29 and I-94, but historically came about when the Northern Pacific Railroad crossed the Red River of the North circa 1870. Direct air service from Minneapolis is available with Northwest Airlines while direct service from Denver and Chicago are provided by United Express out of Hector International Airport .

The F-M area is a regional center of education, health care, and retail trade. There is also a growing high tech sector with locally based and globally marketed software from Great Plains Software and off-road electronics from Phoenix International. Closer to home, the Minnesota lakes country is less than an hour away. The three local universities (links above) provide a range of music, theatre, and sports events. There are also community art museums such as the Plains, a symphony orchestra, and an opera. For sports fans, F-M is home to professional baseball and basketball as well as the collegiate teams. Local parks departments provide many opportunties for those who would rather participate than watch.
