Handle With Prayer

Recently, after one of our services, a guest told me: "God is doing something here!" As we enter a new year, I wonder what God desires to do through our church this year! In what ways does he want each of us to grow? What opportunities should we pursue in fulfilling our sense of mission? Whom will we reach with the good news of the Gospel?

These questions underscore the importance of prayer. For us to be a community that is worshiping, growing, and sharing his love with others, we must be connected to God through prayer.

With that in mind, we will start the New Year with a week of prayer. Throughout the week, we will have opportunities to gather in small groups to pray for Salem, for particular ministries within our church and for our outreach to our community. Furthermore, our first sermon series of 2003 will focus on prayer. As we learn more about talking with God, we will address some of the basic questions about prayer listed below.

As we look at these questions, we are going to learn more about how we can relate to God in a meaningful way. I hope you will join us for this series entitled: "Handle with Prayer" and make use of the "Digging Deeper" studies linked below.
