2006-2007 Theme = “B” Many of the students are well grounded in God’s word, but sometimes do not understand how that knowledge is to be played out in their daily lives and activity. It is not about simply saying or believing the right things, it is about being in a right relationship with God and having your words and deeds reflect God’s love and glory. So, the students selected “B” as their theme. No matter where someone is and no matter what the circumstances, if they are “being” a follower of Jesus Christ it will directly impact their decisions. In other words, “Be a Christian.”
Theme verse = James 1:22-25 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in the mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.” |

ALIENS SQUAD is for grades 7-9 ALIENS CREW is for grades 10-12. The ALIENS theme verse is 1 Peter 2:9-12: "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you from darkness into wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Dear friends, I urge you, as ALIENS and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagens that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us." The students of Salem are being used in a mighty way this summer in Fargo, Cooperstown, Jackson Mississippi, and around the world! The students and Pastor Kent have been used by the Lord to draw many people into a personal, eternal relationship with Him-praise the Lord for what He has done and will continue to do in and through the student ministries at Salem!
